About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Programs and Re-Entry. The mission of Programs and Re-Entry at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive rehabilitative programs and services that prepare inmates for successful reintegration into society. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

  • Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel. As required for the position.
  • Must have six (6) years of professional experience in corrections conducting staff training, providing coaching, mentoring and technical support to staff regarding correctional system operations. Experience must be clearly indicated on the State of Florida application.
  • Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 4 years of the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inmate Programming Liaison: Serve as a liaison at assigned facilities for CINAS and other OPR initiatives, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  • Training and Facilitation: Coordinate staff training, workshops, and meetings related to inmate programming, and perform as an instructor/facilitator as needed.
  • Program Implementation and Guidance: Assist with the coordination of inmate programming with Central Office and Institution staff, providing guidance to facility administration on program implementation and management.
  • Research and Evaluation: Conduct research on inmate programming and best practices, evaluate program effectiveness, analyze data, and prepare reports to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance and Monitoring: Provide fidelity monitoring of CINAS and inmate programs, assist with program monitoring from a quality assurance perspective, and attend facility, regional, and state meetings to address and resolve implementation issues.
