About The Position

Under the direction of the Office of SecureFlorida Deputy Director, this position serves as a Program Specialist implementing the statutory requirements for the department’s E-Verify and property ownership by foreign principals programs. This is independent, advanced level work requiring a logical understanding of business practices and procedures to analyze cases, offer compliance support, and conduct enforcement actions as outlined in ss. 448.09, 448.095, 692.203, and 692.204, F.S. Requirements

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow, and other activities for the improvement of team processes and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, and track reports of violations of ss. 448.09, 448.095, 692.203, and 692.204, F.S., and conduct preliminary due diligence inquiries.
  • Draft and send communications regarding the compliance inquiry and the rights and responsibilities of the business owner, property owner, or other responsible party.
  • Adhere to the applicable program workflow through the duration of the case to ensure preparation for enforcement actions, including independent research, review, and audit of all documentation received, subsequent documentation requests, and required notices to the responsible party.
  • Update and maintain all case information, records, and actions in the appropriate systems.
  • Coordinate and conduct independent research and analysis.
  • Prepare and present findings-based reports and summaries to agency leadership, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Analyze and provide additional investigative leads and recommendations when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with other state agencies for investigative, regulatory, and enforcement needs.
  • Assemble and arrange documents for trial purposes and provide court testimony regarding violations of ss. 448.09, 448.095, 692.203, and 692.204, F.S.
  • Maintain awareness of new information sources, relevant policy developments, and technical solutions.
  • Exercise independent judgment, problem solving and organizational techniques to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Perform other related duties where appropriate or as requested.
