About The Position

This position serves as a grant manager responsible for the administration and monitoring of multiple biomedical research grants. This includes all aspects of the grant management lifecycle: application development and submission, pre-award tasks, post-award execution and monitoring, grant reconciliation, and closeout. The role involves working with Principal Investigators and Sponsored Research Officers on grant execution, terms, and conditions, as well as providing technical assistance to grant awardees. The consultant will track and review progress reports, perform desk and onsite monitoring, manage grant budgets, submit invoices, and maintain grant files from execution to closeout. Data entry into tracking logs for compliance and reporting is also a key responsibility, along with timely responses to grant-related inquiries. Additionally, the position requires completion of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program within 90 days of hire, with similar programs potentially substituting with supervisor approval.

Requirements

  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office 365 Applications.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research.
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skill in Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be able to learn and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, in English.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a grant manager responsible for the administration and monitoring of multiple biomedical research grants.
  • Manage all aspects of the grant management lifecycle including application development and submission, pre-award tasks, post-award execution and monitoring, grant reconciliation and closeout.
  • Work with Principal Investigators and Sponsored Research Officers on the effective execution of grants, terms and conditions, and amendments.
  • Provide technical assistance to grant awardees and points of contact.
  • Develop deliverables and prepare agreements and amendments as required.
  • Track and review quarterly progress reports for grants.
  • Perform desk and onsite monitoring of assigned grants.
  • Track grant budgets and submit invoices to ensure payment within compliance timeframes.
  • Maintain good working relationships and close coordination with grant awardees and applicable points of contact.
  • Maintain all grant files from execution to final closeout.
  • Enter data into tracking logs to meet compliance requirements and accurate reporting.
  • Respond in a timely and comprehensive manner to inquiries regarding grants.
  • Complete required modules of the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) within 90 days of hire and all refresher modules as needed.
