About The Position

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Government Operations Consultant I. This position provides professional administrative, operational, and program support with a strong focus on workforce retention, deployment coordination, travel management, and data support.

Requirements

Must have experience working in a Retention and Development Specialist role, or performing equivalent retention and development duties
Experience supporting workforce deployment, staffing coordination, or assignment tracking.
Knowledge of office procedures, administrative practices, and data collection methods.
Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, and policies.
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to support recommendations and operational improvements.
Ability to coordinate workforce deployment activities and support retention strategies.
Background and fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

Support workforce retention efforts through proactive outreach, development planning, coaching, and tracking employee progress.
Assist with training and development initiatives and prepare reports on retention, engagement, and workforce trends.
Coordinate workforce deployment activities, including tracking assignments, monitoring staffing needs, and supporting regional deployment strategies.
Serve as the Regional Statewide Travel Management System (STMS) and Fleet coordinator, including account management, travel review/approval, auditing, and staff guidance.
Provide administrative and operational support to Child Protection Regional Operations, including HR liaison functions, meeting coordination, correspondence management, and calendar support.
Collect, organize, and analyze program and operational data to support reporting and special projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
