About The Position

This is a full time OPS position (40hrs./week) that will be filled at $19.39 per hour. The salary may be negotiable dependent upon years of experience, education level and available salary rate. Requirements

  • Experience With Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar work.
  • Knowledge of Business, Economics, Human Resources, or closely related field.
  • Skilled at providing excellent customer service; and at developing cooperative working relationships and maintaining them over time.
  • Abilities to speak publicly, influence others, and negotiate; utilize problem-solving techniques; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; prioritize work load; and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business relationships through ongoing contact with business and industry to assess their needs and deliver products and services to them to address those identified needs. Business and industry contact will be conducted through responsive and timely follow-up of all referrals and through a systematic, targeted market-based approach.
  • Market Vocational Rehabilitation to business and industry as their source for the talent pipeline of qualified candidates with disabilities and as a reliable and trusted resource for addressing accommodation questions, accessibility issues, and ADA, EEOC, OFCCP, and other regulatory requirements and matters related to the employment of individuals with disabilities.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to businesses on disability related topics, including disability etiquette, federal tax incentives, ADA, accommodations, accessibility, etc. Consult with businesses and provide expert information on VR services available to employers to strengthen their recruitment, hiring, advancement, and retention of individuals with disabilities, such as on-the-job training, job analysis, worksite accessibility assessment, new hire supports, etc.
  • Conduct extensive outreach and collaboration to build partnerships that engage employers and promote the employment opportunities of individuals with disabilities. Outreach and collaboration occurs across a wide spectrum of community partners, including Community Rehabilitation Providers, Education, Business Organizations, Advocacy Groups, Government, Workforce Boards and Centers, and other stakeholders with direct or indirect interests in the employment of individuals with disabilities.
  • Inform VR Counselors and other staff of specific employment and career opportunities, industry training and certification programs, detailed business and industry information, and other relevant labor market information obtained through the Business Relationship Development process to facilitate the employment of qualified consumers.
  • Facilitate qualified candidate referrals to employers and function as a liaison to ensure employer satisfaction throughout the hiring process and the achievement of a mutually successful outcome for both business and consumer. Participate as a collaborative member of the VR Business Relations Team, strategizing with all team members to effectively coordinate and conduct business relationship activities. Respond to National Employment Team (NET) and NET-Southeast regional business referrals, following the protocols of the NET.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of business relationship activities, business contacts, and services to business using Program database. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and business related functions applicable to position description. Perform other related duties as required.
