This position serves as the Chipola Forestry Center Recreation Coordinator, responsible for developing and implementing an outdoor recreation program for all managed lands. This involves site inspections, resource inventories, public visitation tracking, determining land-use capacity, developing recreation plans, and securing funding. The role also involves assisting field staff with facility and trail development, conducting quality assurance inspections, designing training programs, and coordinating volunteer efforts and liaison with Friends of Florida State Forests. Additionally, the position coordinates public participation in planning projects, conducts workshops, acts as a liaison with user groups, prepares public information materials, and oversees the online reservation system. The role also supports the Florida Forest Service’s State Forest Program in areas such as timber, wildlife, protected species, and resource management plans. Other duties, including handling revenue, may be assigned.
