About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida. We are seeking to hire a Government Operations Consultant III who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team based work environment. This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Quality. Medicaid Quality provides data-driven, focused and systematic feedback on the quality of Florida’s Medicaid program to federal and state agencies, Medicaid recipients, Medicaid managed care plans, and providers. The Bureau of Medicaid Quality has a strong focus on providing more comprehensive care, improving health outcomes, and reducing costs. This is a highly responsible professional position in the Bureau of Medicaid Quality. The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing contract management and vendor monitoring activities.

Requirements

  • One year experience managing a project, contract, or grant.
  • Three years of professional experience in a health or rehabilitation program involving program or policy planning and development, program research or evaluation, finance, statistical analysis, accounting, auditing, or budget analysis.
  • Knowledge and experience with Medicaid or other healthcare systems.
  • Knowledge of contract management.
  • Skilled in organizing and effectively leading meetings and workgroups.
  • Skilled in utilizing problem solving methods and techniques.
  • Skilled in collecting and analyzing information and making recommendations for next steps.
  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to review and analyze reports related to the delivery and execution of services.
  • Ability to oversee and direct project or program implementation activities.
  • Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data and develop reports.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable statutes, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures pertaining to a program.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, work multiple high priority items simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team, including with other bureaus and Agency management.
  • Ability to travel with or without accommodations.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree from a college or university and/or a master's degree from a college or university in health services, social work, psychology, public administration, health care, or social services administration.
