As a Government Facility Security Officer in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Our Government location is seeking an Unarmed Patrol Officer who will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and provide professional customer service and communication throughout the property. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response activities within a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate contacts according to post orders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, housing-related areas, and perimeter points to help identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, movement areas, and restricted locations, verifying authorized access, supporting order within the location, and assisting with security-related procedures as directed.
• Prepare detailed written reports on incidents, patrol findings, and daily activities, and/or communicate relevant information to supervisors and site contacts for follow-up.
