Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government correctional location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while following established post orders and reporting protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, entry points, housing areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor movement at assigned access points, verify credentials and/or visitor authorizations, and document daily activities, observations, and incident details in required reports.
  • Communicate with site personnel, supervisors, and/or first responders regarding security-related concerns, policy violations, and changing conditions at the location.
