About The Position

Job Summary Intern will work with the Government Affairs Team on policy research, development, and advocacy communication across the federal government. The intern will also work with the Vistra company PACs on various activities. Job Description Key Accountabilities Responsible for collaborating on the development of company policy positions on key priority issues on energy reforms, environmental, tax and finance, and emerging electric industry transformational opportunities. Monitor priority legislative committees and administration departments and work with Government Affairs federal team to communicate key issues internally. Work directly with lobbyists to advocate company positions and prepare materials that can be shared externally on key policy priorities. Support PAC activities: communications, recruitment, giving strategies and some administrative activities. Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements Interest in governmental affairs arena. Interest in energy power markets and electric industry issues. Interest in economics and data analysis. Participation in political or student government campaigns a plus. Verbal, written, interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Current rising Junior or Senior undergraduate student or current graduate student. Key Metrics Development of educational and advocacy policy materials. Help with company PAC activities. Adherence to all required ethics and compliance regulations.
