About The Position
The American College of Radiology (ACR) is a progressive membership organization representing nearly 40,000 medical specialists in radiological care. ACR’s Government Relations Department is seeking a Congressional Affairs Director for its Washington DC office. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, dependable, and team-oriented player who has considerable healthcare policy and political experience preferably with membership organizations. Capitol Hill and/or related agency experience a plus. Some travel and public speaking opportunities will be available.
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience in governmental/congressional affairs plus 2+ years in a healthcare membership organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possession of successful multitasking skills
- Ability to travel
- Qualified candidates will live in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area
- Maintain a flexible schedule of working around ACR's operating hours of 8:30A - 5:00P (EDT)
- When working remotely, workers must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized.
- Reliable internet connection is a must!

Responsibilities
- Identify and monitor legislative and regulatory issues
- Establish and maintaining relationships with congressional offices
- Draft letters, articles, and advocacy materials
- Attend meetings and congressional fund raisers
- Deliver presentations at events/function and actively contribute in meetings
- Ability to communicate complex policy initiatives to Congress and organizational leadership
- Experienced and energized in working with PR teams to craft and share non‑partisan, informational social media content
