About The Position

The Government Affairs Representative is responsible for supporting the organization’s public affairs and government relations efforts by promoting policies that sustain access to air medical services. Build relationships with public officials and community stakeholders, monitor healthcare and aviation legislation and advance advocacy initiatives that protect patient access and operational viability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public affairs, political science, healthcare administration, communications or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to interpret legislation and communicate operational impact
  • Relationship building skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization
  • Travel by personal or company vehicle throughout LFN’s service area is required. Must hold a valid driver’s license, an automobile in good repair and be able to provide proof of auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in government relations, healthcare advocacy or public policy preferred
  • Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, EMS systems or aviation regulations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with local, state and federal officials, agencies and community partners
  • Monitor healthcare, aviation and reimbursement related legislation affecting air medical services
  • Analyze policy impacts and provide recommendations to support organizational priorities
  • Communicate the value of air ambulance services, including patient access and emergency response capabilities
  • Support advocacy efforts by preparing briefing materials, presentations and testimony
  • Coordinate outreach with legislators and staff to educate on air medical transport issues
  • Represent the organization at meetings, hearings and industry events
  • Collaborate with clinical, operations and leadership teams to ensure aligned messaging
  • Assist in executing public affairs strategies that support sustainability and growth
  • Ensure compliance with lobbying, ethics and reporting requirements
