Governance Program Manager, Payments Compliance
About The Position
The Google Payments Compliance team works to safeguard Google's users and protect our products from fraud and financial crimes abuse by ensuring strict adherence to global Anti-Money Laundering (AML)/Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations. The Program Governance team serves as the central coordination and oversight hub for Payments Compliance. We provide the foundational frameworks, strategic planning, and processes that enable the team to scale safely, maintain global alignment, and remain audit-ready. As a forward-thinking Program Manager on the Payments Compliance team, you will play a key role in tracking and driving readiness efforts for product and compliance launches. Collaborating closely across multiple regional teams, you will help coordinate daily execution, manage the payments issues management program, and assist in establishing foundational governance excellence and unified frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in compliance, risk management, investigation, auditing, legal, or consulting.

- Ability to effectively influence, drive results and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of management and having exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end project planning for launches with compliance implications by coordinating cross-functional teams across Compliance, Operations, Legal, Finance and partnering closely with product and engineering as a central point of contact.
- Support the payments issues management program by partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to address and close issues stemming from audits and regulatory exams, supported by clear processes and standards, enforced accountability, and rigorous tracking and reporting.
- Support core governance activities to establish consistency across multiple regions and teams through unified frameworks and facilitating operational planning exercises.
- Act as the central anchor to maintain alignment, track milestones, eliminate operational hurdles, and ensure complete launch readiness.
