About The Position

The GovCloud Software Engineer will work on Salesforce’s Public Cloud engineering teams, which maintain and build a large-scale distributed systems platform supporting features for high-compliance environments. As a member of the GovCloud Developer Platform team, the engineer will work within team-defined designs and architecture to deliver product onboarding experiences, cloud-native services, and resilient infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with senior engineers to implement microservices, participating in on-call rotations, and supporting high availability and security compliance.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in a software development role building and managing cloud infrastructure or distributed systems.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Go, or Java.
Familiarity with cloud-native tooling and orchestration, such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience with Agile development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD), including writing well-tested code.
Willingness to ask questions, learn system architectures, and collaborate effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

Deliver feature components for high-compliance environments under guidance from senior team members.
Build and maintain microservices and cloud infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Create substrate-aware configurations, modules, and templates based on established team patterns.
Analyze, debug, and resolve standard system issues, supporting feature delivery with high test coverage.
Participate in the team’s on-call rotation, handle common alerts, and use team telemetry to troubleshoot operational problems.
Write clean, maintainable code and improve the codebase.
