About The Position

The Golf Professional at DICK'S House of Sport provides high-quality golf instruction, builds a student base, and develops lasting relationships with golfers. The role involves identifying students’ strengths, weaknesses, and lesson goals, serving as a trusted advisor, adapting teaching methods to support student learning, and pursuing continued development as an instructor. The Golf Professional is expected to find creative ways to grow their student base and meet or exceed financial and performance goals.

The role also supports community outreach by partnering with local organizations to teach golf, promote DICK'S House of Sport, and introduce golfers to services such as club fitting, lessons, Club Tech, and specialized services across departments. The Golf Professional collaborates with Certified Fitters and teammates, including by engaging with golfers during fittings and sharing advice, knowledge, and expertise to improve golfers’ swings and games.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Active PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing.
• 3+ years of club-fitting knowledge through experience and/or OEM training.
• PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing, Apprentice Level 1, 2, or 3, or interest in becoming a PGA/LPGA member through the PGA/LPGA Associate Program.
• Trackman Level 1 and Level 2.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for golf equipment and related technology.
• Desire for continued personal learning and teaching others.
• Stay current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Create safe environments for golfers and provide high-quality instruction.
• Build a student base and lasting relationships with students.
• Discuss students’ strengths, weaknesses, and lesson goals, and serve as a trusted advisor.
• Develop as a teacher, adjust instructional approaches to support student understanding, and pursue continued learning.
• Find creative ways to grow a student base and strive to meet or exceed financial and performance goals.
• Partner with local organizations to teach, support community outreach, and promote DICK'S House of Sport and its services.
• Collaborate with Certified Fitters and teammates, including during fittings, and share advice and expertise to improve golfers’ swings and games.
