About The Position

The Golf Professional at Golf Galaxy builds a student base by creating safe environments for golfers, providing high-quality instruction, and developing lasting relationships with students. The role involves identifying clients’ strengths and weaknesses, understanding their lesson goals, and serving as a trusted advisor. The Golf Professional continually develops their teaching skills, adapts instruction to support student learning, and finds creative ways to grow their student base while meeting or exceeding financial and performance goals.

The Golf Professional also supports community outreach by partnering with local organizations to teach golf and promote Golf Galaxy services, including fittings, lessons, Club Tech, and other specialized services. Working collaboratively with Certified Fitters and teammates, the professional contributes to a trusted-advisor experience through fitting interactions, lesson-plan suggestions, and the sharing of knowledge and expertise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Active PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing; applicants may also qualify as an Apprentice Level 1, 2, or 3, or be interested in becoming a PGA/LPGA member through the PGA/LPGA Associate Program.
• 3+ years of club-fitting knowledge through experience and/or OEM training.
• Trackman Level 1 and Level 2.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for golf equipment and related technology.
• Desire for continued self-learning and teaching others.
• Stays current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

• Create safe learning environments and provide high-quality golf instruction.
• Build a student base and lasting relationships with students.
• Identify clients’ strengths and weaknesses and understand their lesson goals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to students.
• Develop teaching skills and adapt teaching style to support student understanding.
• Find creative ways to grow a student base and meet or exceed financial and performance goals.
• Partner with local organizations to teach golf, support the community, and promote Golf Galaxy services.
• Promote services including fittings, lessons, Club Tech, and specialized services across departments.
• Collaborate with Certified Fitters and teammates to enhance the trusted-advisor experience.
• Interact with Fitters and golfers during fittings and offer suggestions or advice on lesson plans.
• Share knowledge, experience, and expertise with teammates and golfers.
