Golf Professional - Golf Galaxy
About The Position
The Golf Professional at Golf Galaxy provides golf instruction, builds a student base, and develops lasting relationships with golfers. The role identifies students’ strengths, weaknesses, and lesson goals, then adapts teaching concepts and style to support their understanding and progress. The Golf Professional continually develops their teaching skills, finds creative ways to grow their student base, and works toward financial and performance goals. The role also supports community outreach by partnering with local organizations to teach golf and promote Golf Galaxy services, including fittings, lessons, and club technology. Working with Certified Fitters and other teammates, the Golf Professional helps create a trusted-advisor experience by sharing expertise, advising on lesson plans, and supporting golfers during fittings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience.
- Active PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing.
- Three or more years of club-fitting knowledge through experience and/or OEM training.
- PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing, Apprentice Level 1, 2, or 3 status, or interest in becoming a PGA/LPGA member through the associate program.
- Trackman Level 1 and Level 2.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion for golf equipment and related technology.
- Desire for continued learning and teaching others.
- Stay current with industry trends.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe environment for golfers and provide high-quality instruction.
- Build a student base and lasting relationships with students.
- Discuss students’ strengths, weaknesses, and lesson goals, and serve as a trusted advisor.
- Adapt teaching concepts and style to facilitate student learning.
- Seek opportunities to improve as an instructor and stay current with industry trends.
- Develop creative ways to grow the student base and meet or exceed financial and performance goals.
- Partner with local organizations to teach, support, and promote Golf Galaxy services in the community.
- Collaborate with Certified Fitters and teammates during fittings and share knowledge and advice about lesson plans and golfers’ games.
