About The Position

The Golf Professional at Golf Galaxy builds a student base by creating safe learning environments, providing high-quality golf instruction, and developing long-lasting relationships with students. The role involves identifying golfers’ strengths and weaknesses, understanding their lesson goals, and serving as a trusted advisor. Professionals adapt their teaching style to support each student’s learning and pursue continued development as instructors. The Golf Professional develops creative ways to grow their student base and works toward financial and performance goals. They engage in community outreach by partnering with local organizations to teach and promote Golf Galaxy’s services, including fittings, lessons, Club Tech, and other specialized services. Working collaboratively with Certified Fitters and teammates, they share knowledge and offer advice to improve golfers’ swing, game, and overall experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of experience.
Active PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing.
Three or more years of club-fitting knowledge through experience and/or OEM training.
PGA of America Class A or LPGA membership in good standing, Apprentice Level 1, 2, or 3 status, or interest in becoming a PGA/LPGA member through the PGA/LPGA Associate Program Track.
Trackman Level 1 and Level 2.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for golf equipment and related technology.
Desire for continued learning and teaching others.
Stay current with industry trends.

Responsibilities

Build a student base by creating safe environments and providing high-quality golf instruction.
Build long-lasting relationships with students and act as a trusted advisor.
Talk with clients to identify strengths and weaknesses in their swing or game and understand their lesson goals.
Adjust teaching concepts and style to facilitate students’ understanding and learning.
Seek information and opportunities for continued professional development as a teacher.
Develop creative ways to grow a student base and strive to meet or exceed financial and performance goals.
Partner with local organizations on community outreach to teach, support, and promote the Golf Galaxy experience.
Promote Golf Galaxy services, including fittings, lessons, Club Tech, and specialized services across departments.
Collaborate with Certified Fitters and teammates to enhance the trusted-advisor experience for students.
Share knowledge, experience, and expertise with teammates and golfers, including offering fitting-related suggestions and advice on lesson plans.
