About The Position

The primary focus of the Marshall Starter/Course Greeter is to ensure that groups or individuals start on their schedule tee off time. This position maintains the pace of play on the golf course. The Starter/Course Greeter is accountable for the pace of play on the golf course, for reviewing the rules of the course with each golfer, being a representative of the course for our guests, and additionally maintaining the cleanliness of golf course common areas.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the game and pace of play an asset.
  • Previous experience working at a golf course considered an asset.
  • Must be able to prioritize quickly.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying information.
  • Must be able to convey information.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that groups start on their scheduled tee off time.
  • Introduce groups to each other that are playing together.
  • Maintain the pace of play on the golf course for the day. Speak to groups if they need to be moved along to keep up with the pace of the play schedule.
  • Provide golfers with a daily course orientation.
  • Report any rowdy or overly active groups to the Pro Shop.
  • Is responsible for answering questions that guests may have about the golf course and the area.
  • Keep the Marshall Cart clean.
  • Answering questions guests may have and explaining the cart rules for the day.
  • Be security cautious to reduce the threat of theft or damage to the course.
  • Answering of telephone in the Pro Shop.
  • Cleaning of Clubhouse and on course restrooms as well as front entrance and hallways.
