About The Position

This is a seasonal position for a person to perform assigned labor tasks to assist in proper golf course maintenance at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. The role involves manual labor, operation of power equipment, and working as part of a team in various outdoor conditions. Employees are expected to maintain a positive attitude, follow grooming standards, communicate effectively with supervisors, and adapt to changing priorities and last-minute requests.

Requirements

• No prior experience is necessary
• Ability to pick up new tasks with proper training
• Ability to complete job assignments without direct supervision for most of the day
• Being polite to and thoughtful of others (guests and co-workers)

Responsibilities

• Maintain good rapport with fellow employees and reflect a positive attitude
• Complete all assignments requested
• Follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook
• Maintain open line of communication with your direct supervisor
• Perform manual labor which includes but not limited to shoveling, raking, pushing a lawn mower, planting flowers, trimming trees and shrubs
• Safe and proper operation of power equipment to complete assigned tasks
• Work with others as a team to achieve the common goal of assigned tasks
• Report to work on time and complete all scheduled shifts
• Attend monthly safety meetings and any pre-scheduled department meetings
• Assist other departments when requested
• Help train other employees on certain job tasks when necessary
• Understand and abide by environmental practices of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa
• Be a self starter and look for ways to improve upon your performance on a daily basis
• Other duties as assigned
