About The Position
This seasonal position involves performing assigned labor tasks to assist in proper golf course maintenance at the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. The role requires manual labor, safe operation of power equipment, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve maintenance goals. Employees are expected to maintain a positive attitude, communicate effectively with supervisors, and adhere to company standards and environmental practices.
Requirements
- Ability to pick up new tasks with proper training.
- Ability to complete job assignments without direct supervision for most of the day.
- Being polite to and thoughtful of others (guests and co-workers).
- Ability to understand that last minute requests and changes to assignments will occur periodically and adapt to new priorities.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities
- Maintain good rapport with fellow employees and reflect a positive attitude.
- Complete all assignments requested.
- Follow proper grooming and dress standards set forth by the Employee Handbook.
- Maintain open line of communication with direct supervisor.
- Perform manual labor including but not limited to shoveling, raking, pushing a lawn mower, planting flowers, trimming trees and shrubs.
- Safely and properly operate power equipment to complete assigned tasks.
- Work with others as a team to achieve the common goal of assigned tasks.
- Report to work on time and complete all scheduled shifts.
- Attend monthly safety meetings and any pre-scheduled department meetings.
- Assist other departments when requested.
- Help train other employees on certain job tasks when necessary.
- Understand and abide by environmental practices of the Grand Traverse Resort and Spa.
- Be a self-starter and look for ways to improve upon performance on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Lead other employees to get assignments completed when direct supervisors are unable to stay with the task.
