About The Position
The Golf Course Maintenance Technician performs day-to-day work to maintain golf courses. Duties include preparing the course for play, mowing and grooming turf, watering by hand, and completing manual labor to maintain course quality and playability. The role involves working outdoors in changing weather and requires awareness of the golf environment, including the ability to notice and react to errant golf balls and follow proper golf etiquette.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, and at least one month of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to see and react to surroundings, including errant golf balls, and follow proper golf etiquette.
Responsibilities
- Set tee marker positions and hole locations for course play.
- Remove litter and waste, maintain ball washers, and care for course amenities.
- Mow and groom the course to maintain playability and a high-quality appearance.
- Operate walking and riding equipment.
- Water turf by hand, manually move hoses, and recognize signs of wilt.
- Perform hand labor, including raking, shoveling, pushing, and divot repair.
