About The Position

TPC Deere Run offers a golf course maintenance internship through the TPC Network. The program combines an intern’s education and experience with practical, hands-on learning in agronomic planning and management, asset preservation, operational excellence, and preparation for professional golf tournaments. Interns develop skills related to both tournament and daily playing conditions. Short- and long-term programs are tailored to the intern’s skills and education and can be customized to meet school requirements. Interns also have the opportunity to work at a professional golf tournament and connect with agronomy professionals. Students are introduced to key elements of golf course maintenance, including personnel and financial management, equipment operation and maintenance, maintenance facility organization, fertilizer and plant protectant application, pesticide laws and regulations, member and guest communication, irrigation management, environmental stewardship, career planning, and networking. Interns may also gain exposure to club management, golf operations, equipment management, irrigation management, landscape management, and PGA TOUR agronomy. Internships of three to six months are available year round. Competitive wages are based on experience, housing is provided, and interns are eligible for overtime.
