About The Position

This position is responsible for competently working all stations in the Wabaska Creek kitchen, including opening and/or closing procedures. The cook will maintain the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen area, ensure portion control, and take direction from management. This is a seasonal position with a varying shift schedule that includes weekends.

Requirements

  • Experience in line cooking at a full-service restaurant preferred.
  • Culinary skills, including frying, sautéing, broiling, basting, baking, poaching and roasting.
  • High level of skill at all cooking stations.
  • Knowledge and utilization of proper sanitation practices.
  • Strong knife skills.
  • Highly organized and time-efficient.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to follow and appropriately modify recipes.
  • Able to produce consistent food products.
  • Able to work all stations and shifts as needed.
  • Able to handle working alone.
  • Able to handle working in a fast-paced environment under stressful conditions.
  • Sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as required.
  • Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.

Responsibilities

  • Competently work all stations in the Wabasha Creek kitchen.
  • Open and/or close the kitchen.
  • Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the kitchen area.
  • Maintain portion control in all applicable areas.
  • Take direction from the Wabasha Creek Manager, Supervisor and Lead Cook.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
