About The Position

Oversees the specialized maintenance operations of the golf course, turf, landscaping, irrigation and facilities. Plans, organizes, directs, reviews, and evaluates the programming, scheduling, staff and equipment required to perform maintenance activities and related functions of the municipal golf course at a high quality for Misty Creek Country Club. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Word and Excel helpful.
  • Must know how to perform research using the Internet.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
  • Ability to perform these operations and using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining all roadways, cart paths, tee areas, fairways, greens, roughs, bunkers, ponds, irrigation, landscape/hardscape and buildings
  • Schedules staff and equipment to meet program requirements for all maintenance projects to occur.
  • Inspects grounds and develops work plans for repairing safety hazards and natural damage including pests and disease.
  • Trains employees in the safe application of pesticides and herbicides.
  • Ensures facility staff and work crews receive safety training and adhere to all safety procedures and practices.
  • Maintains safe and secure storage of herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals.
  • Assists the superintendent of the golf course in developing and implementing policies and procedures for grounds and facility maintenance.
  • Maintains equipment, parts and supplies inventory sufficient for repairs.
  • Establishes performance measurements for maintenance operations.
  • Tracks and monitors all operations records including expenditures, reconciles cash and inventory variances, project and activity reports.
  • Develops work schedules and yearly resource plan.
  • Prepares and reviews work orders.
  • Manages time cards submitted to reflect accurate accounting for hours worked.
  • Supervises and manages staff and equipment resources to complete all irrigation, fertilization, mowing, aeration, integrated pest management (IPM), and other maintenance programs.
  • Assists with special projects as needed
