About The Position

The Golf Cart Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and generally caring for the club’s golf carts to ensure they are operational, safe, clean, and well-maintained for members and guests. The role also supports the golf operations team with daily activities, events, and other tasks as needed. The position works primarily outdoors and involves routine inspections and repairs, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, cleaning carts, maintaining records and parts inventory, and managing the staging, charging, storage, rotation, and preparation of the cart fleet. The technician also assists with course and event setup, movement of golf equipment, and member and guest service. Employees are expected to follow club policies and safety practices, attend daily briefings, maintain professionalism, and take on additional duties as assigned. The position reports to the Supervisor Outside Services. Work attendance follows the weekly schedule, with additional hours required to meet deadlines, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, vehicle repair, or a related field is preferred.
Basic mechanical skills and the ability to perform golf cart repairs and maintenance.
Strong knowledge of golf rules, etiquette, and course management.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Customer-service orientation and commitment to providing an outstanding experience for club members and guests.
Ability to perform the physical activities listed for the position, including lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in golf course operations or hospitality is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on golf carts to keep them in safe working order.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, including battery replacements, tire changes, and brake adjustments.
Clean and wash carts regularly so they are presentable and ready for member use.
Maintain detailed maintenance logs and follow safety standards and manufacturer recommendations.
Order and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies needed for repairs.
Manage daily staging, charging, and storage of the golf cart fleet.
Coordinate cart rotation and usage to promote even wear and prevent overuse.
Prepare and position carts for events, tournaments, and daily play, including special member and guest requests.
Assist with golf course setup and breakdown for tournaments and events, including cart staging and coordination.
Move golf bags, equipment, and supplies as required by the golf operations team.
Assist members and guests with golf cart-related questions or issues and support the overall golf experience.
Collaborate with the Golf Operations team on projects and tasks as needed.
Provide additional golf operations support during peak periods and special events, including driving range setup and member services.
Report unsafe conditions and equipment malfunctions to the Supervisor Outside Services.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow club safety protocols.
Assist others and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.
