About The Position

A leading biotechnology company is seeking a GMP Utilities Mechanic, Process Controls, to support the maintenance, monitoring, and operation of manufacturing equipment and cGMP clean utility systems in a highly regulated environment. This role is responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring the reliable operation of critical manufacturing utilities that support production.

Requirements

  • 0-5 years of maintenance experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, manufacturing, or other regulated industrial environments.
  • 2-4 years of GMP experience with trade experience in: electrical, piping, HVAC, etc.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and utility systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, and Gmail.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to emergency maintenance calls on a 24/7 on-call basis.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • An associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Technical or trade school training in electrical or mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, motors, seals, and bearings, is preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting industrial equipment and mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control schematics, and P&IDs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, and record daily system readings for cGMP clean utility systems while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing equipment and clean utility systems, including purified water, clean steam, clean-in-place (CIP) systems, autoclaves, glass washers, vacuum systems, process vessels, pumps, and valves.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process control issues to identify root causes, restore system functionality, and minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors and cross-functional teams to support safe, reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls as required and support additional facility maintenance activities assigned by management.
