About The Position
Sunset Chevrolet-Buick-GMC, part of Sunset Automotive Group, is hiring an experienced GM Service Technician. The role offers competitive flat-rate pay, consistent year-round work, and the opportunity for high earnings. The shop is a large, recently expanded facility with state-of-the-art equipment and multiple machines to reduce waiting. Company-paid factory training is provided, and candidates may maintain or advance their qualifications. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Applicants must complete and pass a background check and drug screen before hire.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of experience as an automotive service technician.
- Intermediate to advanced automotive service experience; GM experience is preferred.
- Solid diagnostic and repair skills; the employer is seeking an A or B technician.
- Dependable and ethical work habits.
- Good diagnostic skills.
- Flexibility to perform all types of work.
- Own tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Verifiable work history.
- Ability to engage in heavy lifting.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Willingness to continue education.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen before hire.
Nice To Haves
- GM certifications and experience.
- ASE and/or GM certifications.
- Technical institute or other training; relevant experience may substitute for education.
- Experience at another dealership or an independent shop is considered.
Responsibilities
- Complete quality automotive repairs independently or with minimal supervision.
- Diagnose and repair a range of automotive issues.
- Perform different types of automotive service work as needed.
- Continue education and training to maintain or advance qualifications.
