About The Position

The Gluer Operator is responsible for setting up and operating folding and gluing equipment according to job tickets and approved specifications. This role involves running equipment at optimal speeds while prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency. The operator will review job tickets for accuracy, monitor production for consistent quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, and perform routine maintenance. Additionally, the Gluer Operator will ensure material availability, collaborate with team members, maintain accurate production reporting, complete documentation, prepare for upcoming jobs, and uphold a clean and organized work environment. Support for team members and adherence to all safety guidelines and company procedures are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and follow job tickets, instructions, and production documents
  • Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry and reporting
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to work overtime when needed
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
  • Continuous use of hands for handling materials
  • Repetitive motion throughout the shift
  • Regular pushing and pulling of materials
  • Lifting up to 10 lbs: Continuous
  • Lifting 10–25 lbs: Continuous
  • Lifting 25–50 lbs: Occasional

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience operating folding and/or gluing equipment preferred
  • Background in packaging, printing, or converting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate folding and gluing equipment based on job tickets and approved specifications.
  • Run equipment at optimal speeds while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Review job tickets to ensure accuracy of all requirements (orientation, labeling, quantities, skid configuration, and special instructions).
  • Monitor production and make adjustments to maintain consistent quality and performance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and escalate when needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs (non-electrical).
  • Ensure proper materials are available and correctly staged for production.
  • Partner with Feeders, Packers, and team members to support smooth workflow.
  • Reconcile production counts and maintain accurate system reporting (e.g., Hagen system).
  • Complete production documentation and logs accurately and on time.
  • Prepare for upcoming jobs to help reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment (5S standards).
  • Support team members and assist across production as needed.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, SOPs, and company procedures.
