About The Position

NeoGenomics has an opening for a Global Workplace Services Coordinator operating out of our Laboratory in Houston Texas who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an entry-level role that requires attention to detail, organization, and adherence to established procedures. Responsible for supporting facility operations and specimen processing activities. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility, assists with general building maintenance, and supports Facilities personnel as needed. Ensure proper handling and preparation of specimens for shipping, including verifying patient information, data entry, document scanning, and specimen processing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma of equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Flexible and available to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call assignments as needed.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with coworkers, vendors, and other departments.
  • Ability to work in a general office, laboratory, and biohazard environment while adhering to all safety policies and departmental guidelines.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with appropriate equipment or assistance.
  • Adherent to all department policies, safety protocols, and company standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in building maintenance and or Logistics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general facility maintenance, including light electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, lighting replacement, furniture assembly/modification, and support of office relocations.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly facility inspections, maintain a clean and organized work environment, and coordinate with third-party maintenance vendors as needed.
  • Receive, process, quality check, prepare, and ship specimens in accordance with established procedures and chain-of-custody requirements.
  • Verify patient and specimen information, maintain accurate documentation, utilize company systems for communication, workflow management, and reconciliation of specimens, slides, and blocks.
  • Monitor specimen routing and handling, identify and resolve processing issues, report quality or compliance concerns, and implement corrective actions, including lost specimen/block/slide recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to troubleshoot operational issues and support efficient workflow.
  • Attend department meetings and training programs to maintain knowledge of testing procedures, systems, and process updates.
  • Follow Neogenomics Quality Management policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Complete all required Quality & Compliance training on time.
  • Identify, report, and help resolve quality or compliance issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental and Facilities work instructions.
  • Complete facility and operational documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing courier shipments.
  • Serve as a point of contact for department-related inquiries.
  • Provide administrative support to management and technical staff.
  • Assist with accessioning activities as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Support department operations and workflow needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
