About The Position

The Global Trade Summer Analyst program based in Montreal, Canada is designed for candidates in their penultimate year of their undergraduate program. Summer Analysts start the internship by completing a one-week training and orientation program. Summer analysts will then gain valuable experience and exposure to a wide number of industries from May to August in either Toronto or Montreal. In addition to this on-the-job experience, the program includes the opportunity to network across various business groups, learn about the culture of BMO Capital Markets, participate in training and learning seminars, and obtain career guidance from dedicated mentors.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate business/accounting/finance program graduating in December 2027 or Spring 2028.
  • Must be bilingual in English and French.
  • Proven track record of excellent academic standing, extra curricular participation and demonstrated interest in finance.
  • Demonstrated leadership in extracurricular activities.
  • Proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Highly motivated, fast learning and able to work with limited supervision and adapt to frequent market, systems, and process changes.
  • Outgoing and personable; team player able to work effectively in small groups.
  • Knowledgeable in the principles of finance and the financial markets.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or an individual who is legally authorized to work in Canada and will not require sponsorship in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous banking or credit risk management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary sales contact for clients, responding to product inquiries, pricing discussions, implementation timelines, and requirements.
  • Partner with clients to gather required information and complete documentation necessary to advance sales opportunities through the approval and implementation process.
  • Support pre‑sales activities, including pitch preparation, client and industry research, and preparation of prospect and client materials for Sales Professional Planning.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client needs, objectives, and desired outcomes to support effective solution design.
  • Assist in the development of tailored solutions and recommendations aligned with client strategies and stakeholder requirements, including supporting implementation where required.
  • Work with internal pricing models and tools to generate pricing analyses and recommendations in support of client proposals.
  • Contribute to focused calling initiatives and pipeline management activities as needed.
  • Provide materials and support to deliver a high‑quality client experience throughout the sales and onboarding process.
  • Identify, document, and escalate potential risk issues, and recommend workflow or administrative process improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including industry and company‑specific research and ad hoc projects in support of senior professionals.
