About The Position

SpaceX is seeking a Global Supply Manager to own end-to-end strategic management of Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for compute and network hardware builds at L10 (subassembly/module) and L11 (system-level/FATP) stages. The role partners closely with engineers and hardware teams to define manufacturing strategies, develop and optimize Statements of Work (SOWs), challenge unnecessary specifications and costs, and drive fast, reliable manufacturing execution at scale. The manager will build strategic ODM/CM partnerships that support on-time delivery, quality, cost efficiency, flexibility, and SpaceX’s cluster deployment cadence. The role includes supplier selection and qualification, commercial negotiations, cost and inventory optimization, and standardizing NPI-to-mass-production processes. It is based onsite in Austin, Texas, with domestic and international travel as needed. Applicants must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in business, manufacturing, supply chain, or engineering; alternatively, at least 10 years of experience in one or more of those fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in global supply chain, ODM/CM management, or electronics manufacturing, focused on compute servers and networking hardware.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
  • Ability to work onsite in Austin, Texas.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with rapidly evolving priorities and high execution speed.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep technical understanding of L10/L11 manufacturing flows, FATP, value engineering, design-for-manufacturability, and the global ODM/CM ecosystem for hyperscale datacenter hardware.
  • Proven track record managing ODMs and CMs at L10 and L11 levels in hyperscale or high-growth technology environments.
  • Hands-on familiarity with server/network build processes and FATP concepts.
  • Experience at hyperscalers, leading ODMs, Tier-1 CMs, or AI infrastructure companies with aggressive scaling demands.
  • Demonstrated success negotiating complex SOWs, challenging specifications and costs, and delivering in ambiguous, high-velocity environments with extreme timelines and massive scale.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with commodity management, roadmap planning, and approved vendor list processes in a manufacturing context.
  • Passion for SpaceX’s mission and excitement about enabling fast AI infrastructure builds.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with responsible engineers, hardware teams, and manufacturing experts to define build strategies, L10/L11 manufacturing roadmaps, and SOWs for compute servers, network hardware, and related assemblies.
  • Own global ODM/CM management, including selection, qualification, onboarding, performance governance, and relationship management.
  • Improve on-time delivery and continuously compress lead times to support SpaceX’s cluster build cadence.
  • Define and negotiate SOWs and commercial agreements, challenging unnecessary specifications and securing pricing, capacity commitments, and flexibility while maintaining quality and reliability.
  • Drive cost leadership through should-cost modeling, design-for-manufacturability reviews, specification optimization, and long-term pricing agreements.
  • Standardize and automate NPI-to-mass-production processes.
  • Implement inventory and WIP optimization models, including consignment and just-in-time approaches tailored to SpaceX’s build velocity.
  • Establish KPIs for cost, quality, speed, yield, and resilience, and review them weekly with leadership.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support ODM/CM factory sites, audits, and critical projects.

Benefits

  • Potential long-term incentives in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards.
  • Potential discretionary bonuses.
  • Ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
  • Medical coverage.
  • Vision coverage.
  • Dental coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance.
  • Life insurance.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Various other discounts and perks.
  • Up to 3 weeks of accrued paid vacation.
  • 10 or more paid holidays per year.
