About The Position

The Global Supply Manager, Capital Equipment & Construction (Starlink) supports construction projects and capital purchases for SpaceX’s construction and facilities organizations. The role works with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage sourcing, contracts, supplier performance, purchasing, and cost optimization for assigned categories. The position is based onsite in Memphis, Tennessee, and may require up to 30% travel, including international travel.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience in one or more of the listed fields, or at least 10 years of experience in one or more of those fields.
Experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, master production scheduling, or construction, facilities, or industrial plant management.
Ability to work extended hours and some nights and weekends when needed.
Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours; up to 30% travel may be required, including international travel.
Valid driver’s license.
Must meet applicable U.S. Government export-control eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required authorizations.
Must work onsite in Memphis, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

Work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement a contract management process that supports successful project execution.
Create sourcing strategies for assigned categories to reduce risk and meet purchasing targets, including payment terms, cash targets, and cost savings.
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and strategic sourcing models that optimize value and support business requirements and continuous cost reduction.
Identify and execute cost-reduction projects, including planning, stakeholder coordination, completion estimates, and project updates.
Perform quantitative and business-process analyses to assess financial impacts, cost improvement, and performance for assigned categories.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define supplier SLAs and KPIs and measure results, cost reduction, quality, and delivery timeliness.
Research, benchmark, and conduct market analysis for assigned categories.
Create contract documents in collaboration with the legal department.
Manage contracts and supplier performance to ensure contract obligations are met.
Apply an understanding of relationships between contracts and terms to develop creative solutions.
Negotiate strategically to maximize value and savings while reducing risk.
Drive year-over-year cost optimization by reducing usage and eliminating operational waste.
Establish preferred suppliers for assigned categories.
Create and implement programs to develop and continuously improve the supply base, manage supplier performance, and monitor KPIs.
Place purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices for assigned categories.
Lead efforts to reduce the number of transactions for assigned categories.
