About The Position

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This team supports all AWS data centers and the associated equipment, ensuring customers have continual access to innovation. The role involves working on challenging supply chain problems with thousands of variables. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is key to maintaining high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost. The AIS organization focuses on delivering cutting-edge solutions for socially responsible data center supply chains. The Power & Cooling team within AIS is seeking a results-oriented individual to manage sourcing and supply for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Procurement Managers in this role are industry experts who ensure the supply needed for AWS's growth. As part of the Power and Cooling Procurement Team, you will be responsible for end-to-end global sourcing and supply chain for categories within Power and Cooling Equipment, supporting AWS Data Center build projects. The primary goal is to maintain unconstrained global supply for these categories, understand demand signals from internal customers and business partners, and implement appropriate supply strategies for continuity. This must be achieved while maintaining a low cost structure and adapting to volatile demand.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations experience
  • 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related technical field
  • Experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, contract management, lease administration or operations

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies on a global scale for mission critical electrical equipment and tier-2 components in a constrained industry landscape.
  • Develop systematic programs to enable seamless delivery and commissioning of equipment globally in a repeatable and consistent manner.
  • Drive supplier performance through rigorous operational and supply chain audits, and implement preemptive risk mitigation measures.
  • De-risk supply chain constraints through sustainable long-term strategies for critical tier-2+ sub-components.
  • Drive strategic commercial negotiations with suppliers to ascertain capacity with the lowest cost structure.
  • Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling for both equipment and on-site commissioning support resourcing.
  • Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both short-term and long-term horizons.
  • Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive successful new product deployments at scale.
  • Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices.
  • Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making.
  • Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals.
  • Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category.
  • Requires travel up to 15% of the year.
