Senior Category Sourcing Manager, AWS Infrastructure Services - Supply Chain
About The Position
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure, ensuring customers have continual access to innovation. This role is within the AWS Infrastructure Supply Chain & Procurement (ISCaP) organization, focused on delivering cutting-edge solutions for socially responsible data center supply chains. The Senior Category Sourcing Manager will design and implement innovative solutions to achieve the best operating and lowest cost infrastructure globally. This individual will manage relationships with strategic server development and manufacturing partners, acting as the commercial lead responsible for cost, performance, contracting, and strategy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including hardware engineering, supply chain, quality, lifecycle management, operations, compliance, and sustainability is essential. A successful candidate will possess strong supply chain knowledge, proven negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs and communicate effectively with senior executives.
Requirements
- 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
- 6+ years of related industry experience
- 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments
- Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company
- Experience in program, project or product management, or leading product implementation

Responsibilities
- Function as the single threaded relationship manager for a strategic supply partner that provides design, development, manufacturing and integration services for AWS servers and server rack integration.
- Matrix manage all aspects of supplier performance including cost, quality, capacity, delivery, compliance, sustainability and overall supply strategy.
- Negotiate and execute complex supplier agreements, statements of work and other contracts by working with cross-functional leads.
- Partner with cross functional teams to deliver RFPs, evaluate vendor responses and align on business awards.
- Deliver AWS’s cost objectives through detailed understanding of all cost drivers and bill of material reviews.
- Develop and successfully negotiate sourcing strategies that align with business objectives while maintaining a sustainable relationship with suppliers.
- Inform and influence senior leadership about business status, risk and opportunities via written narratives.
- Manage vendor escalations and provide executive level updates as required.
- Prepare and present detailed data-driven business reviews with senior management, focused on procurement/sourcing execution and continuity of supply.
- Identify key technology trends in the industry and drive supplier product roadmaps that align with AWS’s technical development and manufacturing initiatives.
