Global Sourcing Associate

sylvamo•Ticonderoga, NY

About The Position

Sylvamo’s Global Sourcing Associate Program is an entry-level program focused on procurement operations. The program provides exposure to procurement strategy and purchasing processes, from corporate category sourcing through implementation and ongoing support at manufacturing locations. The skills and knowledge gained are intended to prepare associates for potential placement in a manufacturing or corporate sourcing role at a North American location. Associates begin with an 18-month development assignment at a paper mill or corporate office in the United States. They build foundational knowledge of pulp and paper manufacturing and the integrated supply chain supporting mill operations, while completing purchasing- and/or storeroom-related assignments under the guidance of managers and team members. Training covers purchase order creation and management, competitive bidding, negotiation, contract development, data analysis, materials management, and inventory optimization. Associates are assigned to one U.S. location for the duration of the development program. They may provide location preferences, but final placement depends on availability. After completing the program, associates may apply for permanent roles at North American locations.
