About The Position

Drive value gap expansion in the global market through the management & product development(s) for the respective product line or product segment. Align new products to Global Product Line strategy, customer requirements and market needs to optimize financial returns. Consistently review product and service offering globally for assigned product lines to optimize profitability by relaunching, discontinuing, consolidating or grouping of products that optimizes the portfolio offering. Accountable for the review and development of business cases on all product investments and are within approved and established criteria and pricing and value is maximized and in line with corporate objectives. Accountable to report on product performance lookbacks to ensure objectives were met or exceeded on product investments. Evaluate product offering across other product lines to provide potential cross product line products that can provide value to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record in the development and/or application of new technology
  • Proven track record in international operations and deep-water developments
  • Extensive experience in a technical, product line, design, applications, or operations role
  • Proven track record in managing international operations of the product line
  • Must possess a comprehensive working knowledge of the product line and products and an excellent understanding of the product lines applications/operations
  • Broad and strong technical aptitude regarding oilfield products and services with an emphasis on the particular product line
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills to enable product/process evaluation, with a proven ability to facilitate and deliver product/process improvement
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Ability to prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
  • Proven technical problem-solving ability
  • General understanding of the global oil industry & awareness of the key operators/technology users.
  • Must be self-motivated & an effective team manager
  • Must have good communication/interpersonal skills, both verbal & written
  • Must have good presentation skills to convey product line information, both internal & externally
  • Must have good organizational skills & an ability to work to tight & sometimes challenging deadlines
  • Must be able to make decisions and be able to identify & implement appropriate improvements
  • Possess an enthusiasm for challenging established practices
  • Good computer literacy & working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Willing to travel internationally as required

  • Responsible for evaluating Total Available Market, market trends, growth opportunities, competitor position, offerings, revenue and pricing for all products assigned and applies data and market knowledge to assigned product portfolio
  • Work directly with product line VP and marketing teams to develop a long-term strategy for the product line based on industry trends, competition, and market research
  • Participate in strategic planning processes (within and across product lines) for new products or technologies and increase value gap expansion through
  • With the Geozone Product Line Manager, develop and then support the execution of short to long term product line strategies to ensure increased market share, profitable growth, in line with margin requirements
  • Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, operations, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities
  • Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford standards at all times
  • Understand, articulate, and capture customer and market need/problems, translating them into product and service idea generation
  • Understand and ensure product teams can articulate and maximize pricing based on clear value drivers tied to key customer requirements and value.
  • Create requirements documents, business plans and launch plans to bring new products/services to market or to enhance existing features
  • With the Marketing/Sales departments, is accountable for developing consumer and marketing/sales promotional material and communication strategies for new product launches and sustained product/service support
  • With the Geozone Product Line Manager, is accountable for efficiency and service execution (including Reliability and Service Excellence) of the Product Line in the Geozone
  • Gathers customer feedback to further improve the product
  • Serve as the primary interface between the Geozone and Global Product line Leadership on all product line related issues including but not limited to: Product Life Cycle Management, Product pricing - oversight of pricing and product line and region commercial guidelines, Product Utilization, allocation/reallocation, to meet revenue and utilization goals., New Product development, Product Launch and Commercialization, Product Performance, Deployment and performance of product upgrades/enhancements
  • Provides regular reports on the financial and operational performance of the products and services within the portfolio the Global Product Line Manager is responsible for
  • Represents the Product Line business at trade shows and conferences
  • Collaborates with other Product lines to produce innovative solutions/ products.
  • Provide input into of Field Engineer, development programs.
  • Own talent metrics and goals at headquarters level.
  • Identify and recommend product line acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Forges excellent working relationships with area/country operations teams. Ensures that lessons learned are shared across the Geozones
  • Supports all Commercial and Technical Tender and BSA preparations
  • Initiates and supports the development of strategic partners, suppliers, and technology that support the product line strategy
  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Clearly communicates expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports
  • Engage external customers to position products and technologies for application into their assets
  • Understand and improve where necessary the perception of this product line, identify potential new products required by the market and establish relationships for future success
  • Actively provides Weatherford product line-related presentations at industry events/forums/conferences
  • Responsible for understanding the financial performance of the Product Line (P&L and balance sheet)
  • Accountable for the development and analysis of business cases for all proposed new product investments
  • Provides financial and technical justification for product selection/justification and definition
  • Reviews with line management capital & inventory requests

  • Costs incurred should be within the approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
  • Supervises and mentors Product Champions in the global PL and Geozone
  • Support development of Product line talent in the Geozone, including GBMs
  • Develop/implement/review product line competency standards, assessment and development plans
  • Ensures that operational personnel meet product line competency standards and are in the correct positions for their skill sets
  • Actively engage with employees to support talent management through Weatherford’s performance management process, actively contributes to the development & delivery of key technical product line training courses programs to support personnel competency & business growth
  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential
