About The Position

Argenta is seeking a Global Head of Procurement for its Shawnee, Kansas location. The role leads and develops procurement strategies for the global procurement function to ensure reliable supply at the best value for money. It combines people leadership, supplier relationship management, strategic sourcing, continuous improvement, sustainability support, and financial performance responsibilities across Argenta’s global business.

Requirements

Recent experience in a similar position within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector.
Demonstrated track record of strategic development and execution.
Ability to identify opportunities to create value from the supplier base.
Strong commercial and business acumen and influencing skills.
Effective procurement risk-management skills.
Strategic capacity and ability to think, plan, and execute.
Stakeholder-management, teamwork, and effective internal engagement skills.
Excellent internal and external communication and relationship-building skills.
Highly collaborative and credible, with the ability to engage and influence across all levels.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to analyze complex data.
Ability to think outside the box and develop flexible approaches to resolve complex problems.

Responsibilities

Establish and lead a high-performing, collaborative procurement function.
Support the procurement team in building a culture of high performance and engagement with internal customers.
Assess and develop procurement talent and ensure succession planning across the network.
Engage and retain talent through feedback, appropriate rewards, stretch assignments, and recognition of successes.
Support sustainability through corporate policies and initiatives, including ethical and sustainable sourcing.
Follow health and safety practices and policies; report incidents and identify risks and hazards.
Ensure compliance with good housekeeping, GMP, HSE standards, and data integrity requirements.
Manage and maintain positive relationships with strategic suppliers.
Identify key project needs.
Lead procurement strategy for major contract items to achieve effective pricing and terms while mitigating supply risks.
Monitor market and technology trends and recommend ways to maximize opportunities and minimize risks.
Participate in key supplier relationships, contract negotiations, and resolution of major supply issues.
Source new materials for RD&I and new product opportunities.
Drive common use and harmonized global material specifications to mitigate supply-chain risk and realize procurement savings.
Support global HSE, including sustainability strategy as it relates to procurement activities.
Develop a continuous-improvement culture focused on year-on-year business performance.
Develop and share a clear future vision.
Maintain overall accountability for Argenta’s culture and systems related to supplier relationships.
Ensure effective procurement management systems are in place and that roles, responsibilities, and authorities are defined and implemented throughout the organization.
Improve financial performance by negotiating effective global supply deals.
Provide input to and work with Finance on Treasury in relation to material purchasing.
Maximize savings opportunities and optimize payment terms across controllable spend categories.
Drive accountability for team performance.
