The Global Director of Operations is responsible for creating a global operational vision, setting strategic goals, and driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement across all facilities. This role has overall responsibility for the company's global manufacturing, assembly, planning, and logistics functions. The Global Director of Operations will work with executive and local leadership to develop, implement, and monitor business plans aimed at achieving corporate objectives on a global scale. This individual will also be instrumental in developing and implementing policies and procedures at both the corporate and international departmental levels, providing professional direction and leadership to all operational areas of the company.

Requirements

  • 4 Year Technical Degree
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen years of high mix, low volume manufacturing and operations experience with a technical manufacturer, including significant experience in a global, multi-site leadership role.
  • Must possess strong leadership qualities and excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated urgency to meet commitments and a strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical inputs.
  • General computer skills.
  • Significant international and domestic travel required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mfg. or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • MBA a plus.
  • Must possess strong leadership qualities and strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated urgency to meet commitments.
  • Trained in “lean” and “six sigma” techniques.
  • Previous senior management experience in a global operations role.
  • Proven experience managing international teams and navigating cross-cultural business environments.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team to create a vision and set goals for primary corporate objectives, developing both short and long-term strategic corporate plans that are congruent with company performance expectations.
  • Provides strategic oversight and leadership to operations leaders at all facilities to create plans and drive personnel to meet specific global operational goals (e.g., On-Time Delivery, Shipping Volume, Quality, Cost, productivity, efficiency, scrap, etc.).
  • Responsible for revenue forecasting and forecast accuracy on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Develops and implements company-wide policies, procedures, and systems that align with PCB's core values and company culture, ensuring consistency and compliance across all global operations.
  • Responsible for fostering a world-class “lean culture” across all global operations, utilizing a deep and thorough understanding of lean concepts, error-proofing, and Six Sigma methodologies to drive a continuous improvement culture throughout all aspects of plant operations.
  • Collaborative involvement with Purchasing leadership managing third party contract manufacturers.
  • Manage customer relationships and engagement supporting visits, calls, and operational presentations.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Inventory, Planning, Assembly, Calibration, Logistics, Safety, and facilities for all manufacturing sites.
  • Works in conjunction with Plant Managers to create strategic and tactical plans which are in line with sales plans and forecasts.
  • Provides leadership and direction to direct reports. Responsible for talent acquisition and development to create a staff capable of successfully executing defined business plans.
  • Ensures that all global operations adhere to PCB processes and systems, while continuously working to improve existing processes.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and ensures product integrity throughout the global manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining clean and safe working environments across all global facilities, in compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Supports PCB Quality System, Certifications (ISO-9001, ISO-17025, AS9100, etc.), and customer audits.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and business reporting software
  • Performs other related duties as directed to ensure efficient operation of department and PCB.
