About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Director of Global Tax to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for global tax planning, transfer pricing, compliance, audit defense, and financial reporting. It is a high visibility position partnering with executive leadership, the Audit Committee, external auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors. The role offers the ability to influence global business strategy, acquisitions, restructurings, and tax-efficient cash management initiatives, as well as lead the implementation of global tax initiatives including OECD BEPS and Pillar Two compliance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum 12 years of progressive corporate tax experience, including significant multinational tax leadership experience.
  • Extensive experience in international tax planning, transfer pricing, tax reporting, compliance, and audit management.
  • Prior leadership experience managing tax professionals and globally dispersed teams.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax regulations, including Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits.
  • Experience with ASC 740 tax provisions, SOX compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and multinational tax operations.

Nice To Haves

  • MST or other advanced tax-related credential preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, or multi-entity multinational corporate tax experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the Company's global tax function to minimize the Company's worldwide tax burden and ensure full compliance across all jurisdictions in which the Company operates.
  • Develop and execute global tax planning strategies that support organizational objectives while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee transfer pricing policies, tax audits, tax reporting, and global tax compliance activities.
  • Monitor international tax law developments and assess impacts on the Company's tax structure and effective tax rate.
  • Build and develop a high-performing global tax function while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
