About The Position

The Global Director of IT - EMR Center of Excellence (CoE) is a senior technology leader responsible for the strategy, governance, and delivery of all Electronic Health Record (EHR) initiatives globally. This executive will lead a centralized core product team and manage regional IT Business Partner teams (US, Europe, Middle East) to ensure a standardized yet regionally responsive approach to EMR implementation, optimization, and support. This role requires a unique blend of global strategic thinking, deep EMR product expertise, and strong business relationship management to align diverse regional demands with a cohesive, enterprise-wide EMR strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in senior IT leadership, with at least 5 years managing large-scale EMR/EMR platforms and a Center of Excellence model.
  • Proven experience leading product management and development teams for enterprise-level applications.
  • Significant experience managing global or multi-regional teams, including business partners, across diverse cultural and regulatory environments (e.g., US, EU, Middle East).
  • Deep knowledge of EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and the healthcare IT ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare data standards, data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR), and clinical workflows.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • Strategic and tactical vision: Ability to think strategically at a global level while understanding and executing against regional tactical needs.
  • Commercial and negotiation skills: Excellent negotiation skills for managing vendor contracts and optimizing financial performance.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively influence and align stakeholders from the clinical level to the C-suite.
  • Influencing and collaboration: Proven ability to drive results and alignment in a complex, matrixed organization.

Nice To Haves

  • A master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or an MBA is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the global EMR strategy and roadmap, balancing enterprise-wide standardization with regional and market-specific needs.
  • Lead and manage the global EMR Center of Excellence (CoE), defining its operating model, standards, and best practices.
  • Establish and enforce a robust governance model for all EMR-related projects and changes, ensuring a consistent approach to configuration, development, and data management.
  • Drive alignment on the EMR strategy with executive leadership and regional business heads, managing expectations and communicating value.
  • Lead the core product team responsible for the overall design, development, and lifecycle management of the global EMR platform and its core functionalities.
  • Foster an innovation mindset within the CoE, exploring and piloting new features, technologies (e.g., AI integration), and third-party solutions to enhance EMR capabilities.
  • Prioritize and manage the global EMR product backlog based on regional demand, strategic priorities, and business value.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, market-relevant EMR solutions by overseeing functional and user acceptance testing across regions.
  • Lead the regional IT Business Partner teams in the US, Europe, and the Middle East, serving as the senior point of escalation and strategic liaison for all EMR-related matters.
  • Oversee the process of gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing regional business demands and requirements for new EMR functionality or enhancements.
  • Drive regional adoption and change management efforts, ensuring that EMR implementations and upgrades are communicated effectively and embraced by clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure regional teams provide effective, localized support and training for all EMR end-users.
  • Attract, hire, and develop a high-performing team of product managers, analysts, and business partners within the CoE and across the regions.
  • Effectively manage the matrix reporting relationships between the global core team and the regional business partners, ensuring collaboration and alignment.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews, and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to ensure the team's success.
