About The Position

The Global Director, Advocacy & Market Development (Biologics) leads the global advocacy for severe asthma and non‑branded market development agenda. The role is responsible for: Building credible, science‑led advocacy across pulmonology and immunology communities with a strong focus on Eosinophilic Inflammation Leading global non-branded market development initiatives to improve diagnosis, optimize care pathways, and enable sustained biologic adoption, focused on International markets and China. Partnering closely with Medical, Commercial and priority markets to translate strategy into measurable impact and scalable execution. This position reports into Global Commercial Head Fasenra and operates in close alignment with Medical Affairs and Key Market Teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in healthcare or biopharma industry, with a strong preference for experience in the Respiratory and/or Immunology area
  • Confirmed experience of engaging with and demonstrating insights from external customers e.g. KEEs, prescribers, payors
  • Proven success in a global or local role
  • Confirmed strong influencing skills and collaborator management, including at an Executive Level
  • Experienced and comfortable working in a matrix environment and capable to adapt to work with different countries and different cultures
  • Experience to create a positive relationship with third parties as an AZ Ambassador at Board and Executive Committee level
  • Launch experience and success including experience with building local advocacy and developing market as well as brand share
  • Resilient, strategically strong and able to execute with a ‘partnership’ mindset

Responsibilities

  • Lead a global, science-driven advocacy program that mobilizes the respiratory and immunology communities around improved patient outcomes in eosinophilic diseases (Severe Asthma, EGPA and HES)
  • Develop and execute the global Fasenra advocacy strategy aligned with brand strategy and lifecycle priorities
  • Build and evolve trusted relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) through the Global EOS Science Group and respiratory disease forums
  • Shape and amplify the eosinophilic inflammation narrative in close collaboration with Global Medical and Brand teams, ensuring it’s credible, consistent, and locally actionable
  • Co-create scientific advocacy content and external education initiatives, in partnership with Medical Affairs
  • Lead the non-branded market development agenda to help redefine severe asthma care and accelerate adoption of biologic-ready patient pathways.
  • Lead the global non-branded market development strategy to ensure bio-eligible patients will have access to biological treatment options
  • Identify and address key barriers across the patient journey optimizing diagnosis, referral and Guideline Directed Medical Therapy
  • Partner with Medical, Access and Health Economics teams to co-create priority system change initiatives
  • Collaborate with respiratory authorities, KEEs, and relevant policymakers to strengthen healthcare system capacity and guideline/pathway implementation across key markets, with a particular focus on the International Region and China
  • Translate strategic ambitions into clear global frameworks that markets can localize and execute
  • Act as a global integrator and catalyst across Brand, Medical, Policy/Access, Digital, and priority markets to enable strong global‑to‑local execution.
  • Align stakeholders on priorities, simplify complexity, and drive focused execution against the most impactful levers
  • Represent advocacy and market development perspectives in key global governance forums, ensuring alignment with brand strategy and medical priorities
  • Collaborate with local marketing, digital, medical, and policy leads in priority markets to ensure seamless strategy execution and shared ownership of outcomes
  • Lead with a partnership mindset—building trust, alignment, and momentum across diverse teams and cultures
  • Translate strategy into clear, actionable priorities and measurable outcomes, focusing on impact over activity
  • Empower markets through scalable frameworks and capability building rather than central control
  • Contribute to talent development by coaching, role‑modeling inclusive leadership, and strengthening advocacy/market development capabilities across the network
