About The Position

Interra is hiring a Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join its Operations team. The role supports export shipments by reviewing transactions, determining the required documentation and regulatory treatment, and making decisions that help shipments move without delay, penalty, or legal exposure. The specialist prepares and issues commercial documents, handles U.S. and Canadian customs filings, reviews bills of lading and certificates, resolves compliance and delivery issues, advises internal teams, and monitors changes in trade regulations.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in transportation, international business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent trade compliance knowledge.
• Working knowledge of export documentation and trade compliance principles.
• Sound judgment and confidence to resolve routine issues and seek help with complex ones.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of import/export compliance experience.
• Familiarity with AES and CERS filing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue commercial documents.
• Determine when and how to release original documents based on payment and trade terms.
• Handle filings with U.S. Customs (AES) and Canada Customs (CERS).
• Review negotiable bills of lading, health certificates, and other certifications for accuracy.
• Identify compliance and delivery issues and work out how to resolve them.
• Advise Sales, Logistics, Purchasing, and Credit teams on documentation and risk.
• Track changes in trade regulations and assess how they affect work.
