About The Position

Qumulo is expanding its global Media, Entertainment, Gaming, and Sports (MEGS) business and is seeking an experienced leader to manage the MEGS sales team. This role involves developing the vertical's go-to-market strategy and actively participating in sales as a player-coach, collaborating with sales representatives to engage with CTOs, broadcast, production, and infrastructure leaders at studios, broadcasters, post-production houses, sports leagues, and teams. Qumulo's cloud data platform is trusted by major media and entertainment companies for its ability to provide distributed creative teams with real-time access to a single, shared copy of media, whether on-premises or in the cloud. The company has been recognized as a Magic Quadrant Leader for File & Object Storage Platforms for seven consecutive years and has received accolades at industry events like NAB and IBC.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience selling complex technology (e.g., storage, cloud, infrastructure, data management, data protection, video, streaming, broadcast, media asset management) to sports, media, broadcast, entertainment, or production organizations.
  • Direct experience managing high-performance sales teams using a hands-on, player/coach approach, with a proven track record of exceeding quotas.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring major new logos through generated demand, not solely relying on partner-led or inbound pipelines.
  • Proficiency in understanding broadcast and production workflows, from ingest to playback, with a focus on media workflows.
  • Existing relationships with global media, entertainment, sports leagues or teams, or broadcast organizations.
  • Ability to travel across North America and globally for customer meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities

  • Own and grow the global revenue for the Media, Entertainment, Gaming, and Sports business, including forecasting, coverage model, and headcount planning.
  • Manage the MEGS vertical with a focus on profitability, akin to running one's own business.
  • Hire, retain, and coach a team of senior account executives who manage long enterprise sales cycles in a specialized market.
  • Build and nurture executive relationships with studios, broadcasters, leagues, and teams, and act as a player-coach in new logo acquisition.
  • Drive complex sales of hardware, software, cloud, and hybrid cloud solutions, collaborating with OEMs, resellers, and cloud partners.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing teams to align customer needs with the product roadmap and execute targeted account-based marketing campaigns.
  • Represent Qumulo at industry events such as NAB, SVG, and SMPTE.
