The Global Cargo Claims Specialist will be responsible for logging and responding to all incoming cargo claims through the claims management system. This role involves reporting claims to the insurance carrier, developing action plans for resolution, and handling the adjustment and management of all cargo liability claims from third parties. The specialist will partner with the insurer, insurance broker, and TPA to ensure best claims practices are followed, and will handle subrogation recoveries. Maintaining loss data in the claims database, collecting, organizing, analyzing, and providing claim reports to management, and submitting claims to accounting for payment are key functions. The role also includes ensuring claims are paid appropriately, booking claims to the correct business units, and recognizing and elevating claims with significant exposures to the Senior Manager. Communication with the Senior Manager and other appropriate parties regarding claims activities, participation in insurer claim file reviews, and conducting internal claim reviews are also expected. The specialist will coordinate with insurance claim teams, holding them accountable for superior claim management services, and will assist the department with responding to internal and external information requests.
