About The Position

This role is part of the Global Business Operations Rotational Associate program, designed for undergraduates. The program focuses on providing diverse experiences through rotations, developing analytical skills, and contributing to strategic initiatives within TD. The role involves completing rotation objectives, conducting research and analysis, identifying process improvements, and representing business needs on cross-functional teams. Specific tracks exist for Branch Manager and Technology Solutions programs, each with tailored responsibilities. The position emphasizes personal development, client interaction, and adherence to enterprise frameworks and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Complete rotation objectives set together with each host at the beginning of each rotation.
  • Develop detailed, accurate, and timely research and reporting supported by insightful commentary.
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience.
  • Conduct meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices.
  • Identify/implement process improvements to automate, streamline, and increase of analysis and decisions.
  • Represent business on cross-functional/cross-product working groups, projects, and forums.
  • Work with key business partners on strategic initiatives.
  • Liaise between internal stakeholders and external advisors, where appropriate.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects, working with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Advise and present senior management and influence decisions.
  • Invest in personal development and growth.
  • May be customer/client facing, and may be required to provide solutions for escalated inquiries or concerns.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Build effective, profitable, long-lasting relationships with a variety of unique personal banking, business banking, and high-value clients.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Act as a subject matter expert for complex personal banking issues, particularly relating to credit applications/management.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Liaise with other business units (e.g., Wealth, Business Banking, etc.) to facilitate successful referrals of clients among the branch team.
  • For Technology Solutions Programs: Design and build software, applications, etc. according to business requirements, UX designs, and architectural guidelines, ensuring a high-quality solution.
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for our business area.
  • Ensure respective programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs/priorities, and complies with internal/external requirements.
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Ensure business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g., financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets).
  • Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk activities as necessary.
  • Participate in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations.
  • Monitor service, productivity and assess efficiency levels within own function and implement continuous process/performance improvements.
  • Lead / facilitate and/or implement actions/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues.
  • Actively manage relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues/trends and evolving regulatory climate, and assess potential impacts.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Meet or exceed business objectives by negotiating and executing business plan.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Plan and execute business development activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Coach team to proactively identify customer needs and to deliver on the sales goals.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Identify and develop relationships with existing customers and external referral sources to generate demand for products/services.
  • For Branch Manager Program: Ensure necessary due diligence is taken to support the accuracy of all customer transactions.
  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues/points of interest.
  • Provide thought leadership and/or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
  • Remain current on trends, and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques.
  • Participate in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team.
  • Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities.
