About The Position

As our Director of DHS Business Capability, you are responsible for leading and managing the DHS business deployment, implementation and adoption of the capabilities and processes required to deliver a digital solution within the organization. Working with the business stakeholders, you are responsible for aligning the Digital solutions capabilities with the overall business strategy, objectives, and goals of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in marketing, sales, product development, or related field
  • 10+ years in marketing, sales, product development, or related field
  • Experience in high-tech, healthcare/med-tech digital solutions businesses
  • Strong track record driving digital processes in the medical space, outgrowing market.
  • Strong track record developing, launching, and growing digital solutions offerings and innovative value propositions in the medical space.

Responsibilities

  • Implement standardized project planning and control processes and ensure tools are effectively used across all ADD projects.
  • Establish processes to support project management standardization.
  • Provide division-wide perspective to focus on root issues and solutions for project execution (not technical issues).
  • Acts as a catalyst and key interface with project managers, PDMRB, and Core R&D to establish and maintain effective project management practices.
  • Facilitate portfolio and resource management as part of the annual SDP process. Ensure the proposed SDPs are based on realistic timelines.
  • Educate/train project managers, project team members, timeline coordinators, and functional areas on key initiatives such as the Prochain methodology, systems management, aggregated resource management, program integration, etc. across the Division.
  • Accountable for Project Management Office scope, strategy, and programs.
  • Leads others in the application of project management practices and standards.
  • Accountable for demonstrating continual improvement in effective completion of projects and sub-projects in the Division.
  • Reports to Senior Leadership Steering Committee, chaired by the VP Assays and Systems.
  • Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions to meet product development needs.
  • Digital Solutions offered by the organization meet the needs and expectations of its customers and stakeholders.
  • Integration into the Businesses serves as the counterpart of the Archetype Process & Systems Excellence team, in order to translate business requirements into new user stories and/or additional technical functionality in the existing or new tools and applications.
  • Organizing, prioritizing and documenting functional requirements from the businesses, understanding the downstream impact in Markets and Customers, and defining the operational benefits (Business case).
  • Working with business owners, architects, product management, Q&R and Market leaders contributing to vision and program backlog, streamlining the execution of program priorities while leveraging opportunities of standardization cross-business.
  • Managing a team focus on E2E implementation of DHS capability delivery.
  • Participating with other Abbott senior leaders to establish strategic plans and objectives related to DHS, representing customer/market requirements and needs
  • Acting as a direct point of contact for program escalations, driving strategic direction to increase solutions adoption and product utilization within the region
  • Strategically and operationally advance Digital Solutions while meeting the timelines and deliverables of the business
  • Mentoring the development of leaders within the DHS delivery practice, up to the senior manager level
  • Selecting, developing, and evaluating digital solutions professional services subject matter experts and other staff, as required
  • Identifying and analyzing the digital solutions capabilities required to deliver new solutions effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve or enhance the digital capabilities and E2E delivery processes in line with the overall business strategy and objectives.
  • Contributing to the development and managing implementation of DHS capabilities, including processes, systems, and people.
  • Ensuring that DHS capabilities are continuously monitored and evaluated to ensure that they remain effective over time.
  • Identifies new capabilities and processes required to enable or improve digital solutions, professional services, and solutions for Abbott
  • Represents the Voice of Abbott DHS Process & Systems Excellence team, makes sure that business demands are properly documented, clarifying the positive business impact (compliance, automation, productivity), understanding the E2E business impact
  • Permanent member of Design Reference Group, participates in release planning, contributes to program increment planning, program backlog refinement and decision on prioritization based on ROI
  • As a content expert has the knowledge to connect the dots, able to make an impact analysis to identify the benefits at Market, customer, and cross-business opportunities
  • Works with the Markets and other Businesses identifying new opportunities for further automation, simplification, and integration of existing and future processes
  • Has the primary responsibility for being the Business SPOC towards the Archetype Process & Systems Excellence team, representing the business interests towards those groups
  • Knows the customers well and uses that knowledge in the role

  • Collaborate with the Archetype Capability Leader defining functional requirements as well as the user interface.

  • Participates in template validations, release planning sessions and user acceptance tests representing the business owner and securing that the “final product” is fit for purpose
  • Work closely with Transformation Program leaders, BPOs and BPEs to identify and prioritize capability development and deployment roadmaps & drive adoption of the capabilities in the markets and business
  • Collaborate with product & business/function teams to identify capability gaps and requirements required for successful market launch and enablement
  • Manages team working closely with BPEs to identify capability development and deployment requirements & be the ambassador of the global services capabilities in the business
