GIS Technician (Mid-Level)
About The Position
SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) is a government contracting and consulting firm supporting military installations and federal agencies across the nation. SSE is seeking a GIS Technician (Mid-Level) to support our ongoing mission with the 647 Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The GIS Technician will maintain and update installation GeoBase data, produce mapping products for Activity Management Plans (AMPs), and help integrate spatial data with Sustainment Management Systems (SMS) and NexGen IT. This position will support installation planning, asset management, project development, and data-quality activities across Civil Engineering programs.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience using GIS to manage, analyze, and present facility, infrastructure, utility, or asset-management data.
- Experience maintaining geospatial databases and producing accurate maps, data layers, and spatial analyses.
- Ability to perform GIS data QA/QC, troubleshoot data issues, and coordinate with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Must be able to successfully complete the required Tier 1 background investigation and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Minimum 5 years of GIS experience, including at least 3 years of military GIS experience.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of SDSFIE, GeoBase, Sustainment Management Systems, or similar DoD geospatial data environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update installation GeoBase data in accordance with Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE).
- Create and update GIS mapping products supporting TNAP, Utilities, Facilities AMPs, Sub-AMPs, facility inventories, and condition assessments.
- Integrate GIS data with Sustainment Management Systems such as BUILDER and PAVER and with NexGen IT, including troubleshooting data-transfer issues.
- Perform QA/QC and reconciliation of spatially referenced asset data and assist in resolving discrepancies between systems.
- Provide on-demand mapping and spatial analysis for Civil Engineering stakeholders, including project planning and Installation Development Plan constraint analysis.
- Prepare data layers and mapping products for the Comprehensive Planning Platform (CPP) and other installation planning requirements.
