GIS Technician (Entry-Level)
About The Position
SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) is a government contracting and consulting firm supporting military installations and federal agencies across the nation. SSE is seeking a GIS Technician (Entry-Level) to support our ongoing mission with the 647 Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. This position will support maintenance of installation GeoBase data, preparation of mapping products, and integration of spatial information with Civil Engineering planning and asset-management systems. The GIS Technician will assist with data updates, mapping, spatial analysis, and quality-control activities supporting installation infrastructure and planning requirements.
Requirements
- Demonstrated working knowledge of GIS software, geospatial data management, mapping, and spatial analysis.
- Ability to maintain accurate GIS records, create mapping products, and perform basic data QA/QC.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical data and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Must be able to successfully complete the required Tier 1 background investigation and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
- Minimum 3 years of GIS experience.

- Experience with facility, infrastructure, utility, or asset-management GIS data.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining and updating installation GeoBase data in accordance with applicable geospatial data standards.
- Create and update GIS maps and data layers supporting Activity Management Plans, facility inventories, utilities, transportation networks, and condition assessments.
- Support integration and reconciliation of GIS data with Sustainment Management Systems such as BUILDER and PAVER and with NexGen IT.
- Perform routine GIS data QA/QC and help identify and correct spatial-data discrepancies.
- Provide mapping and spatial-analysis support for Civil Engineering project planning and Installation Development Plan activities.
- Assist with development of constraint maps, planning data layers, and other mapping products for Civil Engineering stakeholders.
