This role involves creating cartographic output (map making), data manipulation, data creation from digitization or field survey, basic data management, and basic map development. The technician will interpret and enter field data into GIS related systems and databases. The position requires creating, revising, and maintaining technical data for reports, maps, and sketches, as well as material and property equipment records. Information will be obtained from various resources including verbal/electronic communications, sketches, marked drawings, field notes, vendors' catalogs, and technical reference manuals. The role also involves operating large scale plotters and other duplicating equipment, collaborating with other company organizations to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy, and generating reports by extracting data from graphical and non-graphical databases.
